I’ll start this post with what I forgot to mention in the last one, the cone stitch.
This is a free tutorial by Kate McKinnon on YouTube, you can find it here.
I’d been wanting to try this technique for a while, I just never got around to it. Mine didn’t turn out too great but it is a nice project and as you can see in her video you can make a pretty awesome cone with this stitch.
And now, this is what I’ve been up to since the last post.
I made a pair of turquoise beaded ball earrings with copper findings. Turquoise and copper always look so nice together.
I purchased a tutorial from Cynthia Newcomer Daniel’s shop JewelryTales on Etsy. It is called “I love links” and you can buy it here.
I love this design. All seed beads and thread, yummy! I haven’t finished it yet because I’m not sure if I want to make it into a bracelet or keep going and make an awesome chunky necklace.
I call mine “Breaking Bad” because I was re-watching Breaking Bad (for the 4th time I think) while I was making it and it has those lovely green turquoise beads. 🙂
In september last year I purchased a tutorial from Julia S. Pretl for a Tiny Turtle box. I only recently got around to beading it.
I love this little guy! Isn’t he adorable?
I forgot to keep track of how many needles, thread and/or beads I broke while stitching this guy together but it was at least 4 beads and 4 needles that broke.
This turtle design comes in 3 sizes. You can buy them all here.
I finished off my pack of 25 #12 John James needles. I wrote the date of the first needle being taken from the pack and that was October 31 2013 and the last one taken out was May 16 2015 so 25 needles lasted me 19 months. I break a lot of needles, 13 on the box challenge alone, not counting the turtle box, I used #13 needles for that one.
And right now I’m working on a large macrame cuff that is still pinned to the board so no picture of that one yet but I did post a picture on Instagram of my work in progress. Link to that over there on the right somewhere. —–>
That’s all for now. Thanks for reading! ♥
