Box #5 is called “Deco Pagoda”. It was a lot of fun and so far the most challenging box to complete. At each new tier I would break a couple of beads adding the new tier and the roof. It seems the white beads are weaker than the other colored beads. It was also a white bead that cut the thread at one point.
In the future it would probably be wise to stay away from white beads in a complex design.
The box looks great though. I’m very pleased with it.

The colors are the same as in the book but it looks like the black and white beads in the book are matte beads and mine aren’t.

Materials used:

  • 8 mm Frosted Siam round Polaris beads for the feet and finial.
  • Op Jet 11/0 seed beads
  • Op Red 11/0 Miyuki Delica beads #0723
  • Black 11/0 Miyuki Delica beads #0010
  • White 11/0 Miyuki Delica beads #0200
  • S/L Red 8/0 seed beads
  • 6 lb Fireline, smoke
